The full name of EMC testing (electromagnetic compatibility testing) is Electro Magnetic Compatibility, which is defined as "the ability of equipment and systems to work normally in their electromagnetic environment and not to constitute unbearable electromagnetic disturbance to anything in the environment". The definition includes two aspects. First, the equipment should be able to work normally in a certain electromagnetic environment, that is, the device should have a certain degree of electromagnetic immunity (EMS); secondly, the electromagnetic disturbance generated by the device itself can not have too much impact on other electronic products, namelyelectromagnetic disturbance(EMI)。
The product standard of China's industrial automation instrument industry is GB/T18268 "Electromagnetic Compatibility of Electrical Equipment for Measurement, Control and Laboratory Use" (idtIEC61326). The EMC test items specified in this standard include electrostatic discharge, radio frequency electromagnetic field radiation, rated power frequency magnetic field, voltage sag, short-term interruption, pulse group, surge, conducted disturbance induced by radio frequency field, radiated emission and conducted emission. In the future, the new standard will increase the harmonic and voltage fluctuation test requirements, and put forward special EMC requirements for different types of instruments.
